Title: template and plugin upload
Post by: ayomatt on
I can't seem to use the extension manager to upload a template successfully. May be it has to do with the version of the joomla. Version 1.7 or what do you feel might be wrong. Tks

Check the version of the joomla you installed and check the extention.

To check the version the joomla version, when you log in, you can see that on top of left side of the joomla admin.

To check that of the plugin, go top the author’s page where you downloaded the plugin/extension it will be listed.
The  plugin/extension must be the same with the version of joomla you are using to build your website.

There seems to be some templates that can serve multiple versions.

Yes, there are, normally the author will list the versions that his/hers Template or extentions support.
Once your own version is listed, then it will work for your project.

Let go step by step.
Go to Extention manager, when it opens,
go to click Browse to locate the extention you downloaded
Click Uploade & Install to install it.

If it extension you installed, go to Module manager, look for the extention name, tick it and at the top click publish or  If the extention(depends on the what the extension does) has some features to add eg picture, special effect, click on it to add the necessary things, after that check Publish (under status) and click save to have start working.

If you didn't tamper with your CSS is likely be from your browser.
Just clear your cache.

How do I create a drop down menu is what I mean

Go to menu section you want to assign the drop down menu eg Main menu, click on it , all the menu names will appear,
then click on any one you want to assign to open it or create a new one.
When it opens under " Parent item" by default you will see "Menu Item Root" that means it will appear normal, if you want the menu to become dropdown just change this to any menu inside there eg About us. This means your new menu will be a dropdown of about us.

I installed Cycrow Plugin Manager so I can activate a script for X3:TC. It asked me to use save manager to backup my files, I said yes, then converted game from Vanilla to Modified. I started the game and wanted to load one of my save games, nothing was there. I exit the game and reverted back to Vanilla game. Started the game again and the save games are still not there. I searched my computer, nothing...

Any ideas? I had hundreds of hours invested in my game.

Thanks.
